PV Reads A Community Read Event

The Palos Verdes Library District invites the community to participate in PV READS—a community reading event promoting cultural celebrations and learning on the peninsula.  Immerse yourself in the culture through programs, activities, and meet the author themselves.

Join us for an author talk with Piper Huguley, author of "American Daughters".

Books will be available for purchase and signing.

This event is free and open to the public.  This program is generously sponsored by the Peninsula Friends of the Library.

Leading up to the author talk, join us for a number of special events and programs inspired by Piper Huguley's American Daughters

"Her Traveling Shoes" with Ina, the Sunshine Storyteller Saturday, February 15 2:30pm - 3:30pm Peninsula Center Library Community Room

Join us as Ina, the Sunshine Storyteller, presents "Her Traveling Shoes." True stories of four courageous Black women who spoke up and travelled for love, adventure, fame and fortune. A few of the stories to be shared include profiles of civil rights activists Georgia Gilmore, pilot Bessie Coleman, athlete Wilma Rudolph, and poet Amanda Gorman.

All ages welcomed. No registration required. 

This program leads up to our PV Reads event with author Piper Huguley, who will read and discuss her book, "American Daughters," on Friday, March 14, 2025. Please see event for more details.
