Zumba @ Miraleste (REGISTRATION REQUIRED)
Saturday, June 8th / 10:00 am - 11:00 am  / Miraleste Library Deck
Mix music and dance with Zumba outdoors on the Miraleste Deck! Instructor Charrise Lum will lead participants through a 50 minute Zumba class including cardio and Latin-inspired dance. Participants are encouraged to wear sunscreen, dress comfortably, and bring a hand towel, a bottle of water, a great attitude, and a wonderful smile. Participants should wear comfortable sneakers.

Guide Dogs for the Blind Information Session
Saturday, June 29 / 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm  / Peninsula Center Library Community Room
Meet volunteer puppy raisers from Guide Dogs for the Blind puppy raising club. Guide Dogs for the Blind is the largest guide dog school in the country. It is a nonprofit, charitable organization that was established to provide a safe means of mobility for people who are blind and visually impaired. Puppy Raisers are volunteers who are dedicated to raising guide dog puppies and for teaching the puppies basic obedience and good behavior at home and in public. Learn more about this service project that is both warm and fuzzy. There will be Q&A where you can ask questions about how to become a volunteer puppy raiser and help a puppy on its journey to service.  Puppies with Purpose!
Meet the puppies and their puppy raisers and learn more about Guide Dogs for the Blind volunteer puppy raising club. The Redondo Beach Puppy Raisers Chapter is a local affiliate of the parent, non-profit organization, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc.

Suminagashi: Water Paper Marbling (REGISTRATION REQUIRED)

Suminagashi, or “floating ink”, is the process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into something vibrant and colorful. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and participate in this wonderful art form by creating marbled notecards and envelopes or bookmarks using inks that are non-toxic and environmentally friendly

Butterfly Walk with the Palos Verdes South Bay Audubon Society (REGISTRATION REQUIRED)
Saturday, July 27th / 10:00 am - 11:30 am  / Point Vicente Interpretive Center, 31501 Palos Verdes Drive West, RPV 
Join us for a walk to observe the endangered El Segundo blue butterfly with Ann from the Palos Verdes South Bay Audubon Society. We will meet and start at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center and walk along the nearby Seascape Trail to a small habitat restoration site and see two different approaches to providing for these little tiny butterflies.
The paths are flat and are made of decomposed gravel. The walk is scheduled to last up to an hour and a half.
